Business Once youve chosen your brand of IP camera and decided on which room or rooms could benefit from them most, its then just a matter of installing your camera in those rooms and deciding how exactly to place them within those areas. That is once youve decided on where to put an IP camera in terms of what you want to film, you need to look into how best to position it to protect your belongings and to capture as much of the room as is necessary/relevant. When you place an IP camera you have additional freedom when compared to that you might expect when placing another type of security camera. The reason for this is that n IP camera has no wires by definition. The very meaning of the word IP camera is Internet Protocol camera which refers to the fact that it works via a wireless transmission and that as such, you can place it literally anywhere without having to worry about wires crossing the room etc. Of course while this gives you much more freedom, it also means you get a lot more confusion when it comes to deciding precisely where to place your devices. The solution is to first of all place your cameras high up. There are several reasons for this, the first one being that placing your camera high up will of course get you the best view of the room, by giving you a kind of birds eye view so that you can fit more in and ensuring that the cameras view of the room isnt blocked by any large furniture or any people milling around as it might otherwise be. The other reason that you should place your IP camera high up is that this will mean that your cameras cannot be tampered with and that your camera is safe from being vandalised. This is very important as it will mean that your camera can continue to do its job unhindered. The problem with placing it low down, is that someone could easily enter your building with the intention of doing something criminal and thus decide to damage the camera so that it was inoperable, or throw a cloth over it etc etc and in any of these cases you would then be unable to use the footage in order to help track down the perpetrator, or to alert you to precisely what was going on. You might this way not even be aware that anything has happened at all and instead believe that it was just a malfunction. When you have your IP camera high up however this does not mean that you should try and hide it so that the trespassers do not know its there. This is actually to remove one of the great benefits of using an IP camera as when an IP camera is visible it acts as a deterrent meaning hopefully that no one will try to break into your property for fear that they might be caught on camera, and so having your camera operational could convince them to think again.
